What are some of my parent benefits when I join The Learning Center (TLC)?

  • The Learning Center (TLC) is a private membership association which means parents are private members of The Learning Center (TLC). This is important because parent voice and involvement is valued and protected.

  • As a private member your Constitutional rights are protected and you are protected from public mandates.

  • Fall 2026 – Choose between a full day or a half day option to match the support you need.

  • TLC's strives is to provide your child with the highest quality education possible and partner with you in this journey.

  • At the beginning of each month, you are provided with your child's monthly calendar of learning goals for language arts (Excellence in Writing), and directions for science and history projects. (1st - 6th grade)

  • Your child may bring in their own math or they can use what TLC provides. TLC uses The Good and the Beautiful, Mammoth Math, and hands-on materials. Providing different math curriculum helps your child find the right math for them.

  • Children use a Friday - Monday planner for the days they are not at TLC. The Friday - Monday planner consists of ongoing work your child is already doing while at TLC. The Friday - Monday work is optional and up to you. Some parents take their children on outing or complete their own learning project.

  • Parents are welcome anytime, including sitting in your child's classroom.

  • Families have the flexibility of taking vacations or medical leaves during our learning year.

  • At the end of the year, your child will present their work portfolio to you. This represents their year of learning. End of the year assessments are included.

  • TLC hosts seasonal family gatherings so families can get to know each other better. TLC is for building a healthy and supportive community of families. Extended family is invited to attended the gatherings. These seasonal gatherings include a children's presentation and our fund raiser events, such as a silent auction in November.

  • Parents often contribute by sharing an ability, interest, or time to TLC, which is very appreciated. If finances are tight and you wish to barter a service for a service, please feel free to reach out to TLC.

  • TLC is a technology free learning community. We feel the children get enough computer and phone time away from TLC. We want to increase their focus, attention span, and joy of discovering and learning.

  • Parents have peace of mind knowing that the TLC community values God, family, country, and community.
